Operational FAQ

Technical documentation covering Nexus Market access protocols, transaction security, and escrow mechanics.

Access & Authentication

Nexus Market Onion serves as the authoritative access portal and documentation hub for the Nexus darknet marketplace. It provides verifiable .onion links, PGP keys for authentication, and operational status updates. The Nexus Market platform itself is a decentralized trading environment supporting Bitcoin, Monero, and Litecoin, designed with a focus on user anonymity and security.
Access is restricted to the Tor network to ensure IP obfuscation. Users must utilize the Tor Browser to resolve the platform's V3 .onion addresses. Security is further enforced through mandatory CAPTCHA challenges during login and optional PGP 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication), which validates user identity through cryptographic key decryption rather than simple passwords.
Verification of mirror links is a critical security step. Users should validate every URL against the market's official PGP signed message. The signed message contains the current active mirrors and can be verified using GnuPG or similar open-source encryption software. This ensures the link connects directly to the Nexus Market server. Links can be found on our Mirrors page.

Financial Operations

Nexus Market supports a multi-currency wallet system including Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC), and Monero (XMR). Monero is the designated standard for high-privacy transactions due to its ring signature and stealth address technologies, which effectively break the on-chain link between sender and receiver, offering superior anonymity compared to Bitcoin.
Direct Pay allows users to pay for an individual order directly from an external wallet without depositing funds into the market balance first. This minimizes the time cryptocurrency remains in custodial control. The system generates a unique invoice address for the specific order amount, and the order processes automatically upon blockchain confirmation (1 conf for BTC, 10 for XMR).
Deposits to the market wallet are free of platform fees, subject only to standard network transaction costs. Withdrawals incur a flat 1% processing fee to support infrastructure maintenance. The minimum withdrawal threshold is set at approximately $3 USD equivalent to ensure network efficiency and reduce dust outputs.

Escrow & Disputes

The Nexus Market escrow system acts as a neutral intermediary. When an order is placed, funds are locked in a multi-signature market wallet. These funds are only released to the vendor once the buyer marks the order as 'Received' or the auto-finalization timer expires (typically 14 days for physical goods). This mechanism allows for dispute resolution if goods are not delivered or fail to match the listing description.
Disputes are handled by the market administration team. If a buyer initiates a dispute before the escrow timer concludes, the funds are frozen. Both parties submit evidence (PGP-encrypted chat logs, tracking data, or photos). A moderator reviews the case and executes a judgment, which may result in a full refund, partial refund, or release of funds to the vendor.
Finalize Early (FE) is a privilege granted to vendors with established reputations and high volume. On FE orders, funds are released to the vendor upon marking the order as 'Shipped', bypassing the standard escrow hold. Buyers should exercise caution and reserve FE transactions for vendors they explicitly trust, as post-release dispute resolution is significantly more complex.

Vendor & Data Policies

Currently, Nexus Market has waived the standard vendor bond requirement to encourage competitive diversity. Vendors can register and apply for selling privileges without an upfront financial commitment. However, all vendors undergo a vetting process and must strictly adhere to the Prohibited Items Policy to maintain their status. PGP 2FA is mandatory for all vendor accounts.
Nexus Market operates on a strict minimization policy. Transaction data and chat logs are retained only for the duration necessary to complete the trade and handle potential disputes. Once an order is finalized and aged out, associated data is purged from the servers. We strongly recommend users encrypt all sensitive shipping information with the vendor's PGP key before transmission.
